Caring for your jewellery
You'll probably know already that when silver comes into contact with air it will oxidise and tarnish over time. The good news is that the easiest way to keep silver jewellery clean is to keep wearing it.
When not worn, storing silver pieces in a jewellery box will slow down the oxidisation process.
The chemical compounds in hot springs and chlorinated swimming pools cause silver to tarnish quickly, so it's a good idea to take off your jewellery before venturing into the water. Some creams and and perfume worn on the skin that come into contact with silver jewellery also act as conduits to oxidisation.
If your silver jewellery starts looking tarnished, a quick polish with the microfibre cloth included with your order will get it sparkling again.
Specialist cleaning baths and polishing pastes - available in most supermarkets - are very effective if an item becomes very oxidised.
