About
Welcome to Viveka Alvestrand Jewellery
Who am I?
I'm a contemporary jewellery designer and maker from Sweden, based in the Surrey Hills of England. Every piece of jewellery I sell is designed and handmade by me in a studio nearby to where I live.
I spent a long time in digital media but always wanted to start my own creative business. For two years I studied jewellery design and manufacturing at the Vannetta Seecharran School of Jewellery in Hatton Garden, London.
I have exhibited my work extensively in the UK and Sweden.
Who is the jewellery for?
To be able to craft pieces for others to wear brings me real joy. My jewellery is for women who want to look effortlessly chic and feel invincible.
It’s designed to honour and elevate their own style, whether at work or glamming up for a night out with friends.
What inspires my work?
A born magpie, I have always coveted sparkly, shiny objects. Every week growing up I'd visit my grandparents' home in Stockholm where I made a beeline for the special cupboard where my Grandmother kept her jewellery and would spend hours sorting through it.
As well as warm childhood memories, I bring from my homeland a simple design language, where elegant curves and natural materials are celebrated.
In my designs I seek to incorporate the organic shapes of the silent forests, glistening snow drifts and smooth rocks of Scandinavia. I also have a fascination with water: its power, grace and how it can propel great treasure to shore.
To minimise impact on the environment, my products are made using only recycled silver and gold.
